Kotoko play Mine Stars today
By Graphic
KUMASI Asante Kotoko return to action in domestic competition today when they take on Mine Stars in an outstanding league match at the Kumasi Sports Stadium.
The game could not be honoured last Sunday in view of Kotoko’s engagement in the African Cup winners Cup match against South Africa champions Santos.
Fresh from last Sunday’s nail-biting victory, Kotoko will seek to vent their spleen on the Prestea club who are rooted at the bottom rung of the league table with only one victory in three game.
Victory for the Porcupine Warriors will elevate them to the third position on the league table behind Hearts of Oak and Goldfields.
In a similar outstanding match against RTU in Kumasi last week, Kotoko run riot over the Tamale lads with a 5-0 demolition.
After tomorrow’s outstanding game is cleared, the premier league moves into its fifth week with all 16 clubs in action.
Top of the pairings is the match between giant-killers Liberty Professionals and Okwawu United at the Accra Stadium on Saturday.
On Sunday, league leaders Hearts of Oak host Arsenals, while Kotoko welcome Dawu Youngsters to Kumasi.
At Obuasi, Goldfields take on Power FC, with Bofoakwa Tano trekking to Prestea Mine Stars.
Troubled Great Olympics will be the guest of RTU in Bolgatanga while B. A. United face King Faisal at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
Maxbees will enjoy home advantage in Koforidua against Sekondi Hasaacas.
